Inspiration is everywhere! Sometimes the best inspiration comes from the most unlikely source.

1. Hand crafted tiles in soft colours and stunning patterns. (Image via: pintrest)

2. Fresh spring tulips.

3. Ocean waves and Navajo prints. (image via pintrest)

4. Gold chevron pattern, mint green ribbon and blush tone floral decor… aka the perfect cake. (Image via: pintrest)
5. Antiqued gold hammered sink and faucet.
Where do you find your inspiration?
Resolution update:
I’m happy to report I’ve been sticking with my lengthily New Years resolutions. My main focus these last few weeks has been refreshing my office space. Last week I ordered three beautiful photographs from a talented photographer which I hope to have framed by the end of the week. (I’ll be sure to post the end result)
This week I’m on the hunt for the perfect area rug. I’m looking for a rug with a bold clean pattern, a low pile height (so my task chair can glide back and forth easily) and something that suites the aesthetic of the room (black and white/high contrast). Here is what I’m considering right now, this beauty fits all my requirements I just want to see it in person before I make the call.

The Pedra coaster.
Words can’t express how excited I am to order a set (or two) of these beauties. I love the jewel tone colours, the different levels of transparency in the agate stone and the fact that ever coaster is completely different because it’s a naturally varying material. The only challenge I”m having is what colour to pick!
(Below: eggplant, fuchsia, burnt orange, teal and assorted)

The Pedra coaster set is $68.00 for a set of 4 available at Radlabs
Every year we go to IDS (Interior design show) I’m pleasantly surprised at how different it is. Each year more and more unique vendors come out and show us what’s in store for the year. Here are a few things I founding interesting…
(Top to bottom: A white wood chandelier with bronze flower light installation behind it, a beautiful C&C milled walnut and glass table, individually designed chairs in support of charity put on by blue dot, a creative bronze coffee table, concrete paneling in embossed wood finish, blue dimensional tile stunning for a water feature, black and gold tile installation and the feature image is an installation done with pencil crayons in a peg board).

Will I see you there this year?
Tomorrow is trade day so I’ll be there most of the day roaming up and down the aisles with some design friends. The show is open to the public over the weekend so if your in need of some interior design ideas it’s a great place to for inspiration and to introduce yourself to new manufactures and products. I would strongly encourage you to check it out!
If you can’t make it down (the the Metro Centre – North building in Toronto, Canada) I will be taking pictures and notes to share with you all next week.

The last few days I’ve spent a lot of time sourcing items for my clients. Here are a few goodies from last few days… an artistic multi-light pendant, walnut storage with a combination of door and drawers, wool upholstered lounge chair and a very sculptural platform walnut bed.
Happy Friday everyone!
Developing concepts is one of the best parts of my job. This concept was inspired by a client who appreciates clean lines, art and a modern feel to her space.

Every project starts out with a concept, and getting to that concept can be a bit of a journey. Often you start out in one place and end with a very different look and feel. For today’s post I thought I’d show a concept that didn’t move beyond my notebook for this particular client but was fun to work on.
